Intro

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well?
Welcome to my toy review of my complete set of the Trianforce & Deltaforce !
It took a long time to complete but it was well worth it!

My Story

When first discovering the international versions, I later learned about these original versions. This caught my interest when I first saw the Deltaforce had 5 collectible reptile members and the international versions of the reptiles only released 4 of them, leaving out the King Cobra (Asurah). I always wondered why was that? So I did some more research to try and track down a Asurah, not knowing if he was obtainable or reachable. At some point of time during my journey I encountered my first Bioroid toy, being Mereo the Chameleon from the Deltaforce. From there it restored my faith that they actually obtainable and reachable, it was just a matter of perseverance and patience! After years, here we are with a completed set, which I'm so grateful for!

Now onto the Trianforce VS Deltaforce review!

Toy Review

Note 1: Since there is 2 releases of the toys by 2 different companies, I'm going to stick by calling the set the Bioroids and the Trianforce & Deltaforce.
Note 2: I refer to the names of the animal modes (Beast modes) and humanoid modes (Bioroid modes).
Note 3: I use the catalog profiles for Beast mode transformations names for each animal group: the cats (Bio Cats), the reptiles (Bio Reptiles), Trianforce insects (Trianforce: Bio Insects) Deltaforce insects (Deltaforce: Bio Insects) and the insects in general (Bio Insects).

Check out the links at the end of the review for further information between the 2 different releases by HERO and LANSAY.

Toy Package

The toy package for the series is wonderful and when you have even 1 of members with the box or box sets you can see the effort they put into marketing them. We have professional illustrated toy artwork representing the Beast and Bioroid modes. They are so beautifully done to the point where I feel and look like they could be in a cartoon or anime of some sort. Beside the artwork you can see a clear see through window of the toys in Beast modes and Bioroid modes. The graphics and typography are well detailed and are very colourful, making them stand  out very aesthetically.
Finally once you have them all together side by side, the whole set comes to life and full circle!

Inside Package

The whole set comes on styrofoam inserts with the accessories and catalogs/instructions. They are well presented when you open them up, giving that fresh new feel when get a toy from the 80s.

Accessories
Left: Trianforce accessories.
Right: Deltaforce accessories
The weapon accessories for each team are all designed and chromed wonderfully. I like how each feel have a unique characteristic trait to them.

The Toys

Beast: modes.

Here they all are in their beast modes, a sight I've awaited to see! When displaying them all together it really feels so good!

Following the order of the names from the catalog.
From left to right:
Trianforce: Octymus, Blarde, Gluverda, Gallaga, Thaitan, Doola, Queen-Bee, Battle-Queen, Kratis.
Deltaforce: Asurah, Dusgator, Balcanon, Dusmania, Mereo, Death-Fly, Waspran, Mosqulano, Zonus.

The Beast modes represent their animal counter-parts as well as possible. It's great when you have them all together and have the weapon accessories attached to them and each have enough articulation to play around with. The Bio Cats and Bio Reptiles can have their accessories mounted on them and the Bio Insects don't which I think would of been a nice too for a design or gimmick but it doesn't take away from their play value, you can have a lot of fun with the toys.

Bioroid: modes.

Here they all are in Bioroid modes, a long awaited vision I'm so happy to experience!

When you transform them all together in their Bioroid modes the play value is extended and you can have more fun! The things I like to point out is the 3 Trianforce cat members Octymus, Blarde, and Thaitan can only have them attached on their shoulders like in Beast modes and for last 2 members Gluverda and Gallaga are exceptions as their weapon accessories are attached behind their upper back parts making them unique and give a different look. It's unfortunate they couldn't design a way for the weapon accessories to be held in their hands but I still enjoy them!
It is similar with the 4 Deltaforce reptile members Asurah, Balcanon, Dusmania, and Mereo can only have their weapon accessories attached to their shoulders, where as the last member Dusgator can hold his weapon accessories in both hands making him unique of the 5. It's unfortunate they couldn't do the same design for the other 4 Deltaforce reptile members.
The 4 Trianforce & 4 Deltaforce insect members can all hold their weapon accessories on either of  their hands giving them a bit more play value than the rest.
As a whole the have a unique concept and aura about them that I can't get enough of!

Comparisons

The original versions comparisons to the international versions.
Left: Original versions
Right: International versions

What is the difference between them?
  • Head sculpts are completely different, originals are humanoid sculpted and painted. The internationals are chromed and redesigned.
  • Body designs are same.
  • Colour schemes are almost vastly different as you can see in the contrast of the choices they decided to go with in order to change them for different series releases.
  • They both transform the same.
  • Weapon accessories are the same.
  • The originals have more stickers and more paint applications. The internationals have some stickers but not as much and instead more paint applications.
  • The quality between them are similar but with certain individuals feel different. The originals may have some members lesser quality verse to the internationals are more sturdy and stronger.
  • All in all both are similar in certain ways but what separate them apart in my review is the originals are more humanoid/beast/robotic. The internationals are more beast/robotic.

Conclusion

What a fun review to do! I love writing about the little information I know about the history of the toys, which is always interesting and fascinating to me. I find that once you discover these original designs, you appreciate how the internationals came to be and are well known as transforming toys during the 80s/early 90s.

I have future plans plan to do a gallery and more in-depth review on each individual toy, to expand my blog more.

I hope you enjoyed my Trianforce & Deltaforce toy review!

    1. Hey Swift, Yes I do, it is "聖獣伝説バイオロイド" translates to Scared or Holy Beast Legend Bioroid and if you want just "Bioroid" it is "バイオロイド"
