COMMENTS

The first impression seeing this version of packaging was I wondered how much more of these exist in different styles and have learned there is literally endless versions from what I've seen. As for my thoughts on the whole look of this next series being insects, loved it straight away

MY COMMENTS
This is another interesting type of toy packaging of the FIGHTING INSECT series. To see more of this like the FIGHTING ANIMAL and INVADING REPTILE is really refreshing that they went out of their way to design more different types of packaging because I really like these versions since they have style and more concealment.

REVIEW

GOOD SIDES> These toys are really fun for their simple play-ability transformations and chrome accessories they come with.
> Each have unique consistent looking designs from robot mode to insect modes and their colour schemes are very bright and colourful which is another appealing feature about these toys.
> In robot mode each have basic articulation from the arms and elbows.
> In insect mode some have basic articulation like 360 or 180 rotation. The legs flip out or slide out. You can move the heads left and right.
DOWN SIDES
>  - For their time they are fragile toys and I have had experiences where parts broke off, so be extremely careful when handling them!
CONCLUSION
Being a Transformer G1 fan, I fell in love with these toys and their wide range of packaging. They have inspired me to dedicate more to them by doing a illustration project based on all their toy designs and toy art work.

    1. Hi Jitay17, the most common place you can find these toys is on eBay.com and if you need links to some of them, let me know. That's cool to hear! The Dragonfly I really like and think its one of the coolest out of the insects.
      Thank you for your comment!

    3. You're right. The Dragonfly watches I had have now all sold or not listed anymore. Sorry the timing close, though these toys including the Dragonfly do come on go on eBay so if you're still looking for one, try always searching the names I've talked about on this blog topic but bare in mind there is quite a lot of other versions of these toys that I didn't mention or haven't discovered which makes the chances of them being listed up again are high so all the best and if you need anymore help, let me know!

  3. Hi, I found some transform-able toys made by Leader Shine in 1997. They are a pig, a rabbit and a chicken. Do you know what these are and what they are called? I'd like to sell them on ebay but don't know what to call them since they are in the clear packaging but no box. Thanks, Sherrie

  4. Hi, I recently go in a Butterfly and a Misquito? Squired looks to be in the similar line as the Butterfly you already have posted above. Just an FYI.

  5. I've been searching for a transforming robot toy set that included a beetle (which was the largest/had transparent orange wings folded up inside the wing case on its back) and had the mantis. There's a chance it was a knockoff of an existing toy line, and I've yet to find it. I do remember from 17 is years ago seeing a kid in my kindergarten class that was wearing a shirt with a design that featured the aforementioned robots, as a team (and with the beetle robot's wings spread out, as the robot's functioning allowed)

    Got any clues? THanks

    1. Hi Kevin Jung, That's a really cool experience and an amazing story, thank you for sharing it! I love hearing this kind of stuff about these toys! As for your question, I may have a few possible answers to what you're looking for.
Check out my more recent posts: http://robo-synergy.blogspot.com.au/2017/01/2017-new-year-beginnings-finds-part-2.html You can see these versions are the original molds before the yellow/green Robo-Bugs set and they have different colour wings, head sculpts, and etc.
And or the other answer is probably most of these versions molds which I consider are KO since they resemble and share the same molds but slightly lesser quality, called Insecto-Bots: http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq79/JP_V/Insecto-Bots_Packaging_zpso3poetmu.jpg

I hope this helps, let me know!

      Kind regards,
      Robo Synergy
