DREAM PROJECT: TOY ARTWORK CUSTOMS! THE KATS - PART: 2

DREAM PROJECT: TOY ARTWORK CUSTOMS!
THE FIGHTING KATS - PART: 2 - COMPLETE!

Hello & Welcome People! I hope everyone is happy & healthy in 2026!

At last I have completed my 5 toy artwork customs of The Fighting Animal Kats:
 Cheetah, Lion, Wild Cat, Tiger,
and Black Panther!

INTRO

The thought process and customisation development was a fun activity, involving studying the colour palettes of the toy artworks and applying the paint to animate each Kat members as accurately as possible and at the same time expressing my own creative freedom within the aesthetics of the toy designs!
I hope you enjoy and like my passion and dream project that has been long in the making. ^.^

ANIMATING THE TOY ARTWORKS

MY STORY & EXPERIENCE

A fun idea I wanted to do for so long, which is homage the toy artworks through synergising toy customs! I always love to express my love and gratitude for the artists who created the toy artworks, as it gave me the imagination to picture the toys in a cool way and wanting to pose them in that way, even though they were limited with articulation, it didn't stop me moving forward!

How I started off with this dream project, was to have some duplicates of each toy member and unapplied all the stickers and fully repaint them. As I studied the colour palettes of the toy artworks, I used them as my guide/reference and also my own fan artworks of the toys which was really helpful. It was not only my goal to animate the toy artworks but also to represent their wonderful unified team colours. As I gathered my colour swatches, it was important to visualise how they all would look in the finished works, I'm very happy with the results!
As you will see some of the toy artworks drawn and coloured for both the robot mode and animal modes, appear to different with certain members. This is where I had to develop my own creative way to find a balance between the toy representations. For example, Cheetah's robot vs kat mode, the colours are not consistent, some colour parts are varied from the other. I found this to be intriguing, because I know from the robot mode, these colours highly reflect the same colours from original the BIOROID series Cheetah: GLUVERDA. Meaning there is no information why is this so? I can only guess, during the design process when creating and presenting the toy artworks, there must of been some kind of miscommunication between the artist/s and the toy companies or budget time constraints, who knows?! This is the many mysterious questions I have when thinking and looking at the toy artwork, it was so professionally done to the point where it has led me here giving my love and tribute to respect what they creators did to bring these toys to life!

OUTRO

This Dream Project has been so fun and rewarding! I'm very happy to finish series 1, The Fighting Animal Kats, they hold a special place in my heart!

There is no question, without seeing these original toy artworks of each different series of 19 collectibles from the created V WORLD toy line,  I wouldn't of remembered the toys. This reignited my love for the toys via seeing the beautiful original toy artworks on all the toy packages. It is a special nostalgic feeling for me and yet it sparks new experiences that I continue to keep cherishing and appreciating the level of effort that toy companies: LEADER SHINE (CHAMPION CROWN) and the many pivotal connected toy companies intertwined to this toy line who did so many releases/re-releases of these charming transforming robot toys.

I am forever grateful to them!

If you stopped by to view this post, thank you so much for the support!

Kind Regards,
John Valmeo / Robo-Synergy
